At age 19 he learned to fly, and at age 21 he launched his first business, Experience Aviation. At age 23, he was the youngest pilot to fly solo around the world, a Guinness World Record. At age 24, he challenged 60 of his students to build a plane, and he piloted its first test flight. At age 30, he founded his revolutionary award winning program, The Flying Classroom".
Suffolk Construction
Derek Jones earned an AAS at Broward College and an AS at Washtenaw Community College. He is a MEP Project Manager of Mission Critical Projects at Suffolk Construction. Derek is an experienced Project Manager with a history of working in the Mechanical & Plumbing construction industry. He was also the Lead Project Manager that oversaw the daily Mechanical Operations of the Low Rise Expansion and Renovation of the Hard Rock Hotel Guitar project.
Seminole Tribe of Florida
Tanya McMillion earned an A.A. at BC and a B.A.Sc. in Construction Management at Florida International University. She is a Project Manager at Seminole Tribe of Florida. Some of her many responsibilities as a Project Manager include project management, plan review, field supervision and inspection, manage contracts and much more. Tanya is also part of the Geek Squad at Best Buy. Here she assists customers, trains new employees, and trains others on how to use various devices.
GA Telesis
Davidson Nzekwe-Daniel earned a Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Benin in Nigeria, a M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering at Swansea University in the United Kingdom, and an A.S. in Aviation Maintenance Management at Broward College. He is a Fabrication Engineer at GA Telesis. Some of his tasks as a Fabrication Engineer include managing the fabrication program, coordinating with external engineering/manufacturing companies, creating technical drawings for airplane parts, and more. He is also the founder of a non-profit, the Davidson Initiative, which supports students in the aviation community by adopting a bespoke approach in equipping them with the necessary instruments they require to achieve academic success and to transition effortlessly into the industry. https://www.davidsoninitiative.org/
Banyan Air Service
Danny Santiago earned an A.A. at Broward College and a Bachelor's in Aviation Maintenance and Management at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is the Director of Avionics at Banyan Air Service. Bayan Air Service provides business aviation services, including heavy maintenance and interior modifications, turbine engine service, structural repairs, avionics services, aircraft parts, aircraft sales and management. He started as a Maintenance Crew Lead and worked his way up to Director of Avionics. One of Danny’s career goals is to become an impactful part of aviation and mentor those interested in aviation.
