Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (July 20, 2020) – Hector E. Ramos, with more than 20 years of hands-on experience in strategic planning, overview and operating budget preparation, has been named Chief Financial Officer for Direct Support Organizations at Broward College.
Ramos comes to Broward College from Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, where he served as controller for the past three years, playing a pivotal role in the transition of the agency from a county department to a nonprofit entity. He successfully implemented the financial infrastructure, including software, reorganizing the chart of accounts, and implementation of fund accounting.
He previously worked at His House and at ChildNet, in both organizations starting off as Project Manager and then being promoted to Budget Manager. Prior to that he worked for more than nine years in his family’s real estate firm, Creative Home Group. Before that, he served as Budget Analyst for the City of Miami, and then became the Assistant to the Director of Budget and Management. He started his career as a Financial Analyst for Johnson & Johnson.
A resident of Miami, Ramos earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Management from Florida International University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
